Holistic simply means we’re looking at all the things in your life to best serve in therapy.

Evidenced-based means that research has been conducted on the specific types of therapy that we focus on. The research has shown these strategies to be effective in helping people address their sleep problems, pain or mood issues.

Nope! At Bright Spot, we work really hard to find strategies the fit you. If you’re not into yoga or meditation, there are plenty of other strategies that can be helpful.

At Bright Spot, we care deeply about your privacy. Check out our policies here»

Questions about Insurance & Payment

While Bright Spot does accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, ASR benefits, AETNA, Priority, Medicare, and Medicare Plus Blue, we’re not able to work with every insurance company. Unfortunately we are unable to accept clients with Medicaid.

We are in-network with select insurance plans. For clients using insurance, most copays range between $10–$25 per session, depending on your individual policy. However, coverage varies significantly between plans. Your financial responsibility depends on:

  • Your specific insurance policy
  • Deductible status
  • Coinsurance requirements
  • Authorization requirements
  • Coverage limits

We strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to verify your mental health benefits prior to your first appointment. If using out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.

Frankly, we would love it if all of our therapists could provide insurance-based services to all of our clients, but that is dependent on the therapist’s license and the insurance company. It’s hard, we get it.

Our office is great and super helpful at helping explain benefits. Simply reach out with your new information to 248-296-3104 and our office will work with your insurance company to verify your new coverage and walk you through what that means. Insurance is complicated, we do our very best to make it feel manageable.

Bright Spot accepts checks, debit, credit cards, and HSAs for payment.

We believe in clear, upfront pricing so you can make informed decisions about your care. Please review the following private pay fee structure and policies carefully.

The fee for service is:

  • $170 per 50-minute individual therapy session
  • $55 per person, per 90-minute group therapy session
  • $220 per initial intake or yearly reassessment session (therapy)
  • $250 per initial intake or yearly reassessment session (Medication Management)
  • $275 for a stand-alone session with documentation for a client who is not actively in treatment
  • $50 per clinical letter
  • Administrative services: $60 per hour

Phone sessions and emergency contacts lasting longer than 10 minutes are billed at the same rate as a standard therapy session.

Check out our Good Faith Agreement for our full fees for Mental Health and Medication Management Services: https://docs.google.com/document/d/17_tlypyAXgNTmfBv4g5wAd9kfmWF-uvg8PYqSKBYAEg/edit?usp=sharing

Absolutely. Please call us at 248-296-3104 to discuss your situation and to inquire about availability.

An additional $10–$25 charge may apply for sessions involving interactive complexity or crisis-related factors, such as:

  • Communication challenges
  • Required equipment
  • Coordination of care with medical providers
  • Crisis stabilization efforts
  • Records Requests

Medical record requests are charged in accordance with state guidelines:

  • $1.53 per page for the first 20 pages
  • $0.77 per page for pages 21–50
  • $0.31 per page for pages 51 and above

We require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. The fee for a late cancellation or no-show with less than 48 hours’ notice is $170.

Insurance does not cover missed or late cancellation fees. Clients are responsible for this fee regardless of reason unless otherwise determined by the practice. This policy allows us to maintain availability for all clients and support consistent care.

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged. If balances (including copays, deductibles, late cancellations, or no-show fees) are not paid:

  • Future therapy or medication management appointments may be cancelled
  • A 5% late charge will be added for every month a balance remains unpaid
  • Clients are responsible for any chargeback fees related to payment disputes

We encourage prompt communication if financial concerns arise so we can discuss options when possible.

Fees for completed services are non-refundable. Because therapy involves reserved clinical time and preparation, payments for sessions rendered cannot be refunded. If you believe a billing error has occurred, please contact our office promptly so we can review and resolve the matter. For prepaid services (including intensives), refunds will be considered based on services already provided and time reserved.
